On August 21, 2017, the solar eclipse in Napa Valley gave me the perfect opportunity. I explained to Missie how the eerie light made our hands look different and used that as my ruse to photograph hers. I took a photo of my own hand positioned accordingly, and then one of the partial eclipse itself, our "ring," a celestial diamond that could never be lost.

While she watched the eclipse, I ducked into the car and quickly Photoshopped the images into a out of this world proposal for my Sweet Melissa. As the eclipse peaked, I handed her my phone, saying, "You have to see this, my phone makes the eclipse appear much more vibrant." She pointed my phone at the sky and read the words, "Will you marry me?" as I dropped to one knee. She said yes!  I vowed that day the sun and moon would forever be the symbol of our undying love.
